Biographical / Historical
Lewis E. White studied mechanical engineering at Stanford University from 1913 to 1917,
when he joined the U.S. Army, serving overseas in World War I. He died in Germany in
1919.
Scope and Contents
Collection includes family photographs, studio portraits of White, photograph album largely
pertaining to his time at Stanford, photographs of his gravesite, two letters by White
written while serving in World War I, and other letters pertaining to White's service and
death.
