Carlton F. Wells was a English professor at the University of Michigan, and a author and editor. The collection consists of correspondence, clippings, and reviews concerning John Steinbeck's book, The Moon is Down. The correspondence is a result of Professor Carlton F. Wells writing to reviewers, commentators, and editors regarding the book. There is also promotional material for the motion picture version (ca. 1943).
