Collection consists of materials compiled by Tranquada while covering the Stanford
divestment movement as a reporter for the Stanford Daily in 1977-1978. The material includes
leaflets created by the Stanford Committee for Responsible Investment Policy (SCRIP); press
releases issued by SCRIP, Stanford News Service, and ASSU; copies of Board of Trustees
correspondence; reporters' notes' press coverage of the divestment movement at Stanford and
elsewhere; and copies of organizing booklets published by campus progressives, including
Fire and Sandstone (Stanford, circa 1970), Disorientation (Berkeley, circa 1977); and
Organize (Stanford, circa 1978).
