Scope and Content
This collection contains photographs related to the 1980s East Los Angeles Chicano punk rock scene taken by artist, photographer,
and actor Daniel Villarreal of Los Angeles, California. Performances include The Brat, Los Illegals, X, The Plugz, The Deprogrammers,
and other East Los Angeles Latino punk rock bands at venues such as Vex (Self Help Graphics & Art), The Roxy Theatre, and
the Whiskey a Go Go.
Formats include black-and-white photographic prints, contact sheets, negatives and slides. Additional materials include magazine
clippings, newspaper clippings, exhibition programs, flyers, and one audiocassette.
