Date (inclusive): 1862
Abstract: This file contains the court case proceedings pertaining to George Osgood and Francis Cutting, among others dated October
1, 1863, and December 10th, 1862.
Scope and Contents
The first document is a 4th District Court in San Francisco filing denying that Francis Cutting was indebted to one George
Osgood, for $709.69 and is dated the 19th of September, 1862 and Mr. Cutting denied that they were ever business partners
in "Cutting & Co." together. The second document is a hand written affidavit on the same court case, in which the author states
that the plaintiff cannot testify in any respect. The document was written by one Alfred Lee, who was a tinsmith, and in it
he testifies that he has known Cutting for a total of 3 months, and that "he doesn't know what business he's in". A few other
names are mentioned (Fred K. Smith and John Doe Smith) with regard to the business and pertaining to being alleged business
partners with Mr. Cutting. The attorney for the plaintiff appears to be W.C. Burnett.
