Description
The Charles S. Benson papers document his professional life. Included in the collection are copies of his writings, research materials and correspondence spanning the course of his career as a professor of Education at U.C. Berkeley.
Background
Charles Scott Benson (1922-1994) was a professor of education at U.C. Berkeley from 1964-1991. The central theme of his work is the role of of education in reducing economic and social inequality. He worked in Pakistan, Egypt and Bulgaria as an educator and consultant. His other academic interests included econometrics, vocational education and educational finance.
