Scope and Content of Collection
The Joseph Lane papers document his work with the Shanti Project, an agency dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for
people living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening or chronic illnesses. The collection predominantly includes material
related to the PWA Activities Program, including photographs, papers, ephemera, artifacts, a painting, and flash drives of
digitized material. Lane is a retired Episcopal priest. He was active with Shanti from 1987-1991, and he was instrumental
in developing the PWA Activities Program (later called Fun Squad, Recreation, and Activities).
