    Biographical Note

    Donald J. Berthrong (1922 October 2- 2012 July 30) worked as a teacher, author, and administrator at Purdue University and the University of Oklahoma, eventually serving as chairman of the History Department at Purdue.
    He obtained his PhD from the University of Wisconsin, with a focus on American Indians and the Southern Cheyenne.
