Description
The Jane Proctor letter (SAFR 3, HDC 1043) was written by Mrs. Proctor in 1901 when she was a nurse in the Army Hospital on the Presidio of San Francisco at the time of the wreck of the CITY OF RIO DE JANERIO. In the letter (a photocopy), she describes the demise of the passengers and crew. There is also a typed transcript of the letter and her diary entry about the wreck. The final item is an excerpt from Mr. Allan D. Wallis' writings describing his life with Jane Proctor, his wife. The collection is available for research use without restriction.
