The California Association of the American Registry of Professional Entomologists Records span 1978-1996, with the bulk of material between 1978 and 1992. The collection contains material related to the foundation and operations of the California Association of the American Registry of Professional Entomologists, including correspondence, membership records, newsletters, board and annual meeting agendas and minutes, and financial materials.
The collection also includes American Registry of Professional Entomologists information and some material from the California Department of Food and Agriculture.

The California Association of the American Registry of Professional Entomologists (CA-ARPE) was founded on June 26, 1979 in Fresno, California. This organization developed out of the American Registry of Professional Entomologists (ARPE). The CA-ARPE represented only resident members of ARPE who lived in California.
The CA-ARPE was a statewide non-profit organization that had three divisions. These divisions were a Northern Division (Northern California), Central Division (Central California), and a Southern Division (Southern California). The members were all professional entomologists. According to the bylaws, the purpose for the CA-ARPE was to enhance "the contributions of professional entomologists to the people of California and to society."
