The collection contains photographic prints, negatives, slides, photograph albums, and engraved metal printing blocks documenting the horses, people, events, visitors, buildings and landscapes of the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Ranch from its beginning as W.K. Kellogg's winter home (1925-1932). Additionaly, the period in which it operated as the W.K. Kellogg Institute of Animal Husbandry under the purview of the University of California (1932-1943), the period in which it operated as a Remount depot under the control of the United States Army (1943-1948), and from the time the property and horses were transferred to the state of California to serve as the campus for California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (1949-Present) are included. The collection includes photographs of Hollywood celebrities, Sunday horse shows, the original stables, the Kellogg Mansion, the W.K. Kellogg Airport, staff of the Pomona Quartermaster Remount (Depot), instructional photographs of equine care, a photograph album of the Western Remount Area, and photographs of Cal Poly Pomona students and staff working with the horses.
