Diaries, correspondence, radiograms, memoranda, reports, military orders, writings, annotated maps, clippings, printed matter, and photographs, relating to the political development of China, the Sino-Japanese Conflict of 1937-1945, and the China-Burma-India Theater during World War II. Also includes some subsequent Stilwell family papers.

Access The collection is open for research, except for Box 41 which is closed. Use copies available. Only microfilm copies of 1941-1944 diaries (in Boxes 41-42) may be used. Transcribed digital copies of the World War II diaries (7 Dec 1941 through 15 Oct 1945) are available at http://www.hoover.org/hila/collections/6977902.html Diaries in boxes 38-42 may be used only one folder at a time. Access to audiovisual materials requires at least two weeks advance notice. Audiovisual materials include sound recordings, video recordings, and motion picture film. Hoover staff will determine whether use copies of the materials requested can be made available. Some materials may not be accessible even with advance notice.
