- Martha Padve was involved in the Southern California art community as a trustee of the Pasadena Art Museum (1967-74), co-chairman for the building fund for the Norton Simon Museum of Art (1968-70), chairman of the Pasadena Planning Commission (1973-81), developer of the education program at the Museum of Contemporary Art (1984-86), funding chairman for the Southern California Fellows of Contemporary Art (1976-78) and a member of the advisory committee for the University of Southern California Art Galleries (1976-82). The collection consists of personal papers related to Padve's involvement in the Pasadena Art Museum and the local Southern California art community.

Collection consists of personal papers related to Padve's involvement in the Pasadena Art Museum (later renamed the Norton Simon Museum of Art at Pasadena) and the local Southern California art community. Includes materials related to Padve's tenure as a trustee (1967-74) of the Pasadena Art Museum. Also includes 3 cassette tape recordings of discussions and a critique of the Ed Moses exhibition (August 1976).

Padve was born in Scobey, Montana, as Martha Bertonneau; she married and later divorced Jacob Padve; trustee, Pasadena Art Museum, 1967-74; co-chairman, building fund, Norton Simon Museum of Art at Pasadena, 1968-70; chairman, Pasadena Planning Commission, 1973-81; member, Pasadena Downtown Urban Design Plan, 1980-83; developer, education program, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, 1984-86; funding chairman, Southern California Fellows of Contemporary Art, 1976-78; member, advisory committee, University of Southern California Art Galleries, 1976-82.
