The documents, primarily from the T.W. Norris and the Cowan Collections, include 1792 census record for Monterey, San Jose and some of the missions; copy of a report, 1797, re Indians of the Colorado River area; an order, 1801, re boundaries between the pueblo of San Jose and Santa Clara Mission; a certificate of service issued to a cadet, 1804; and census data and reports on missions, 1812 and 1815.

Biographical / historical:
