The Stanford Crew Association was a student organization of student and alumni rowers with the association founded in 1907, though crew activities began as early as 1903. The association competed in national and international collegiate rowing competitions, such as the Poughkeepsie Regatta and the IRA National Championship Regatta. In its early years, the association operated out of the Palo Alto Yacht Club before building their own shellhouse in 1954 in Redwood City.
