The collection contains meeting minutes and related documents of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), formerly the Animal Care Council (ACC), from 1987 to 2006. Materials have been arranged chronologically.

Biographical / historical:

The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), previously known as the Animal Care Council (ACC), was established by the UC Santa Barbara Office of Research in order to ensure compliance with federal law, particularly the Animal Welfare Act and the Public Health Service Policy. The council's role is to oversee, review and regulate the use of animals in UC Santa Barbara institutional research.
