Two hundred photographs were chosen for inclusion in the University of California's California Digital Library's databases reflecting various aspects of the history of the City of Upland. Images include: businesses located on 2nd Avenue in downtown Upland, citrus industry, homes and community events from Upland's past.
The photographs were chosen from the Upland Public Library Local History collection. The photographs were digitized to broaden access to the library's unique historic photographs. The project included selecting photographs from the collection and research as needed to document the photographs. The photographs were previously cataloged; however they are not currently in the library's online catalog. The photographs were entered into CONTENTdm by Reference Staff.
The Upland Public Library participated in the Local History Digital Resources Program (LHDRP) in 2008-09. This project was supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
