Biographical / historical:

Counselor to United States Ambassador to the United Nations Jeane Kirkpatrick, 1981-1982, to Assistant Secretary of State for Human Rights Elliott Abrams, 1982-1985, to Secretary of Education William Bennett, 1985-1989, and to Vice President Dan Quayle, 1989-1991. Shattan was born in 1950 and died in 2014.
