This collection contains speeches of Jeane Kirkpatrick, Elliott Abrams, William Bennett, George Shultz, and Dan Quayle, letters, memoranda, testimony, bulletins, and printed matter, relating to American foreign and domestic policy during the administrations of Ronald Reagan and George Bush, to human rights violations throughout the world, and to the United Nations.

Biographical / historical:

Counselor to United States Ambassador to the United Nations Jeane Kirkpatrick, 1981-1982, to Assistant Secretary of State for Human Rights Elliott Abrams, 1982-1985, to Secretary of Education William Bennett, 1985-1989, and to Vice President Dan Quayle, 1989-1991. Shattan was born in 1950 and died in 2014.
