Scope and content:

Early nineteenth century handwritten and illuminated manuscript leaf, with printed descriptive slip (most likely prepared by Otto Ege and probably from one of Ege's sets of the various series of the Original Leaves from Famous Books). Written in Devanagari or "town script", the style of characters and illuminations indicating the hand of a Kashmiri scribe. From a book containing selections from the Mahabharata.
