Scope and content:

The papers of Diane Ravitch consist of correspondence, printed matter, reports, research materials, speeches and writings, and studies. They document her contributions to the cause of education in the United States. They reflect her efforts to set up standards for teaching and textbooks and deal with such issues as multiculturalism and bilingual education. They also bring to light the recognition she received outside the United States from European countries such as Poland.

Her papers have been kept in their original order. The audio-visual materials such as audio cassettes, CD Rom, diskettes, photographic prints, and VHS tapes have been arranged alphabetically by date and presented at the end of this guide.

The papers of Diane Ravitch were acquired by Hoover Institution Library & Archives in 2003.
