The collection mainly contains sound recordings and translations of transcripts of interviews of women veterans of the Chinese Long March of 1934-1935 used as research material for the book by Helen Praeger Young, Choosing Revolution: Chinese Women Soldiers on the Long March (Urbana, 2001).
