Finkle, Fred C., 1865-
Abstract:
Finkle (b. 1865) worked in California, Colorado and Oregon. Chief engineer of the North Riverside Land and Water Co., Jurupa Land and Water Co. and Vividino Water Co. (1887). Later became the chief engineer of the San Bernardino Water Works (1890) and two years later became the city engineer of San Bernardino and consulting engineer on water supply for the state of California. In 1911 became the chief hydraulic engineer and geologist with the Edison Electric Co. At Edison he directed the designing and construction of seven hydraulic power plants. He constructed many dams and hydroelectric power plans and designed the Lake Arrowhead Dam on the Little Bear Creek in the San Bernardino Mountains and the Boulder Creek Power Plant. He died in 1949. Most of Finkle's reports have been catalogued in Blais, The Libraries of the Claremont Colleges online catalog.
