Peter L. Hays received a B.A. from the University of Rochester (1959), M.A. from New York University (1961), and Ph.D. from Ohio State University (1965). He served as Professor of English at the University of California, Davis from 1966-2004.
His publications include: Teaching Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises (2003), A Concordance to Hemingway's In Our Time (1990), Ernest Hemingway (1990), and The Limping Hero: Grotesques in Literature (1971).
