Background
John Koehne, Jr., (b. 1921) was an agent with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency until the late 1960s when he and his wife
"escaped the establishment" and spent several years attending humanistic psychology, new age, and self-help workshops and
seminars. Their goal at the time was to establish a commune for those seeking to change their lifestyles.
