Correspondence, newspaper clippings, and materials relating to the Committee for Chol Soo Lee’s Legal Defense.

Biographical / historical:

Chol Soo Lee, a Korean immigrant, was wrongfully convicted of a San Francisco Chinatown murder in 1973. Chol Soo Lee, who was at San Quentin Prison awaiting a death penalty sentence, was acquitted in a second trial. KW Lee, a journalist, gained national recognition for his investigation into the wrongful conviction of Chol Soo Lee. His articles ultimately led to Chol Soo Lee’s retrial and full acquittal. Dr. Luke and Grace Kim were instrumental in the Committee for Chol Soo Lee’s Legal Defense.
