The Garden Walk with Biographic Narrative DVD. Photos, Garden Map and Brief History. An historical documentary about Rudolf W. Gerber, M.D., in Oceano, California in the 1900s. The photo montage shows the Gerber house exterior and garden pictures and the photographer and author, Lesley Gerber Benn talks about her father's life as a country doctor, his friendship with the Dunites, and the Craftsman Bungalow architectural and landscaping features of the doctor's home. Fifty-two color print photographs available in the archives. DVD catalogued in library.

Biographical / historical:

Gerber emigrated from Hildesheim, Hanover, Germany in 1930. He, his wife Catherine, and their children settled in Oceano. He served as the town doctor for approximately 25 years and treated the local Dunites for medical concerns as well. He designed and built the family's craftsman bungalow style home, office, and garden, which became known for its landscape and rare roses.
