- A collection of zines acquired from UCI Libraries Annual Zinefest, various UCI courses, and events hosted by UCI Student Success Initiatives and UCI Libraries. The collection also contains 17 digital zines created by students as part of the Gender and Sexuality Studies class 100D: Queer Knowledges (Spring, Fall 2020; Fall 2021; Fall, and Winter 2023) taught by Dr. Jeanne Scheper. Zines (short for "magazine" or "fanzine") are self-published, small-circulation booklets, pamphlets or flyers created to advance the views of the creator. Popular subjects include politics, music scenes, race and culture, fan clubs, social justice, gender and sexuality, counter-culture, art and philosophy.
