Scope and content:

The Eckbo, Royston & Williams drawings span three linear feet and date from circa 1946. The collection consists of three architectural drawings in the form of reprographic copies, each drawing for a different project. Drawings include: an isometric drawing of the garden for the Mr. and Mrs. J. Macey residence in Kentfield, California dated January 1946; an isometric drawing of the garden for Dr. and Mrs. John R. Reid residence in Palo Alto, California, undated; and a garden study for the Mr. and Mrs. Robert Platt residence in Piedmont, California dated March 7, 1946.

Biographical / historical:

The firm Eckbo, Royston & Williams, Landscape Architects was composed of the partners Garrett Eckbo, Robert Royston, and Edward A. Williams. The firm practiced in California from 1945 to 1958, and was responsible for the landscape design of hundreds of residential, educational, and religious buildings.
