- Biographical / historical:

Robert Asa Condee was born on December 25, 1875 in San Diego, California. Condee's career included: rancher in Southern California (1892-1896), Clerk of the Board of Supervisors (1897-1900), Horticulture Inspector (1901-1902), Agricultural Adviser in Riverside County (1903-1913), Superintendent of Agriculture and Director of Education at the California Junior Republic in Chino (1914-1918), and principal of Chino Vocational High School.
Condee served as President of the California State Agricultural Society from 1925-1930. In that capacity he also served as an ex officio Regent of the University of California. He was also a member of the Agricultural Committee of the California State Fair, the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and a Director of the California State Chamber of Commerce.
Condee passed away on October 4, 1930 in Pomona, California.
