Background

Scope and content:

The Portrait File consists primarily of black and white publicity photographs/stills of American actors, actresses, and other motion picture or television creative talent, dating from the early 1920s to the present. The collection represents more than 3000 individuals and includes portrait/head shots and stills from unidentified production projects that may include more than one cast member in the shot.

Biographical / historical:

The Portrait File was collection was originally assembled by the UCLA Theatre Arts Library and comes from a variety of unknown sources.
