This collection was created in CEMA from internal files about "Dos Decadas de Artistas Chicanas (1972-1990): Envisioning and
Transforming Culture", an exhibition co-sponsored by CEMA held in the Women's Center Gallery on the University of California
Santa Barbara campus. Maria Velasco, CEMA's graphic arts cataloger at the time, organized and curated the show, which opened
on January 10 and closed on March 18, 1994. 545 The Santa Barbara Independent selected the exhibition as a "Best Bet" among
all the events throughout Santa Barbara County. Fifteen screen prints by Chicana artists were exhibited from CEMA's graphic
arts archives of Self-Help Graphics in Los Angeles, the Galeria de la Raza in San Francisco, and the Royal Chicano Air Force
in Sacramento.
