Collection also includes a panaramic view of the campus foothills, 1886, before construction.

Biographical/Historical Sketch

Working his way up from office boy for the Central Pacific Railroad office to secretary to Stephen T. Gage, assistant to Railroad president Leland Stanford, Treat was admitted to the California bar in 1897.

Photographs documenting construction of Leland Stanford Junior University, used as progress reports and sent to university founder Senator Leland Stanford for his approval.
