The materials consist of addresses, programs, audio-visual recordings, and other materials documenting Stanford University commencement ceremonies.

Biographical / historical:

Commencement stands as the principal event held at Stanford Stadium, uniting graduating seniors and advanced degree recipients from all schools alongside their families. This pivotal ceremony encompasses a grand procession, the President's address, enlightening speeches by keynote speakers, and the conferral of degrees. The entire event, spanning from the processional commencement to the departure of stage participants, extends over an approximate duration of two hours. However, it's important to note that the main ceremony does not involve the calling of graduates' names, their crossing of the stage, or the formal reception of diplomas. These aspects unfold during the individualized ceremonies hosted by respective schools and departments.

Subsequent to the main Commencement ceremony, the various school and departmental ceremonies take place across different locations on the campus.
