Abstract: The Southern Pacific Golden Gate Ferries photograph collection, 1916-1932, (SAFR 24250, P14-001) is comprised of photographs
of two groups of men, one associated with the Pacific Coast Steamship Company and one of representatives from various steamship
companies that were part of the Trans-Pacific Passenger Conference. The collection has been processed to the Collection level
and is open for use.

The photographs in this collection were transferred from HDC 147 (SAFR 16439) in 2002. No notes were made concerning which
File Unit(s) the photographs were originally located.
SAFR-00001 is a blanket accession that was transferred from the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) to the San Francisco
Maritime National Historical Park in September 1988. GGNRA had previously acquired the collection from the San Francisco Maritime
Museum when it became a unit of the National Park Service in 1977.
GOGA-00735 was transferred from the San Francisco Maritime Museum Association to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area
(GGNRA) in October 1984.

Contains photographs of two groups of men associated with Pacific steamship companies, 1916-1932. There are 2 black-and-white
photographic prints.
- Item 1: Group of nine men and a turkey in a steamship company office, likely 1916. Eight of the men are standing and one is seated. The calendar hanging on the wall appears to be from 1916. There is also a painting on the wall of a steamship underway. One of the men is apparently C.D. Dunann, Passenger Traffic Manager of the Pacific Coast Steamship Company, and another man might be Joseph E. Wilson, Assistant to the Passenger Traffic Manager. The other men are possibly employees of the company as well. Handwritten on the print verso: "C.D. [Dunann] / All but J.E. Wilson / died in 1917 flu epidemic / Pacific Steamship Co." (1) black-and-white photographic print, 8.25 x 10.25 in. Tear at bottom edge of print.
- Item 2: Group of eleven men at Hotel Del Monte, Monterey, California, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Trans-Pacific Passenger Conference, April 11-14, 1932. Handwritten on the print verso: "The 10th Anniversary Meeting / Trans-Pacific Passenger Conference / Hotel Del Monte, California / April 11, 12, 13, 14, 1932 / 1-Ed. G. White, G.P.A. [General Passenger Agent], Nippon Yusen Kaisha / 2-Jack J. Forster, S.S. Asst. G.P.A., Canadian Pacific / 3-Bob F. Cullen, G.P.A., Los Angeles S.S. Co. / 4-Harry B. Beaumont, S.S. G.P.A., Canadian Pacific / 5-Fred L. Nason, Gen. Asst., Canadian Pacific / 6-Harold C. Smith, G.P.A., Oasaka Shosen Kaisha / 7-Walter L. Johnstone, Repr., Dollar S.S. Lines / 8-Tom W. No arrangement due to the small size of the collection.

operated by the Southern Pacific Golden Gate Ferries. The photographs in P914-001 (SAFR 24250) were separated from this material.
