Records in this series pertain to the early administrative matters of the Athletics Department. This includes intercollegiate athletics as well as the university recreation program which oversees events and campus-wide recreation activities. The bulk of the clippings document game results. Also included are articles pertaining to the growth of the Athletics Department, particularly the decision to become an NCAA Division I program in 1978 as well as to add football, soccer, crew, and women's basketball to the intercollegiate athletic program.Records in this series are arranged in chronological order.
