WHEREAS: Nearly 300,000 Mexicans and Mexican-Americans in Los Angeles are almost exclusively working people, many thousands of them members of CIO unions and many thousands more eligible for CIO membership, and

WHEREAS: The fascist-like onslaught against Mexicans in the Los Angeles area, under guise of suppresion of a trumped-up crime wave, is threatening the war effort in that it causes disunity, alienates Mexican workers and provides propaganda for fascist elements in Mexico, and

WHEREAS: The unjustified trial and conviction of 17 Mexican youth on murder charges in a Los Angeles Court has been used as the spearhead of this attack on the Mexican population, therefore, be it

RESOLVED: That this State Executive Board urge all affiliates to back and assist the appeal.
