Mr. Michael E. Shannon
Dear Mr. Shannon:
Thank you for your recent letter regarding the old Goodyear site in Los Angeles.
I share your love for both Los Angeles and our people and in this connection I want the development of the Goodyear site to benefit both. You will be happy to hear that I have already contacted the United States Postal Service regarding the possibility of locating a postal facility on the Goodyear site.
During meetings with the Postal Service, I was informed that plans are underway to const[illegible data] a new postal facility in the Los Angeles area. At this time several locations are under consideration, including the Goodyear site. I share your belief that a new post office in our community would be an asset. Rest assured that I will do all that I can to persuade the Postal Service to locate their new facility in our community.
In closing I want to thank you for your kind words, and encourage you to contact me on any issue which is important to you and our community.
