    Nineteenth-century American philosopher, poet, and scholar.

    SCOPE AND CONTENT

    One page holograph letter, dated 6 May 1862, to "My Dear Blake" and informing the addressee of Thoreau's death and pending funeral arrangements.
    The letter had been laid in Herbert W. Gleason's THROUGH THE YEAR WITH THOREAU (1917, RARE PS3042 .G63 1917).
