A part of the project to microfilm all of Lorimer Fison's papers held in Ausatralian
repositories, this segment contains Fison's correspondence from 16 October 1873 to 15
October 1878.

Lorimer Fison (1832-1909) was a clergyman and anthropologist educated at Sheffield,
Cambridge, and Melbourne. He relocated from England to Australia in 1856 and later served
with the Australasian Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society in Fiji from 1863 to 1884.
During that time he was Principal of the Training Institution for Natives at Navuloa. In
his correspondence and other writings, Fison recorded his observations of Australian
Aboriginal customs and daily life.
