Scope and Content Note

Correspondence, drafts, research notes, outlines, resumes, and bibliographies related to Frederick Quinn's project to write a history of Beti society in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The history is an unpublished dissertation, entitled Changes in Beti Society - 1887-1960 (University of California, Los Angeles, 1970).

Photoprints, photocopies, and typewritten transcripts of documents in the British Public Record Office, the Cameroun National Archives, and the Institut de Recherches scientifiques du Cameroun, and photoprints and photocopies of selected pages of French and German publications, collected by Quinn during the 1960's, arranged chronologically by date of document or publication with undated documents contained in the folders marked undated. A partial list of documents and publications contained in the 1916-1950 folders, prepared by Quinn, is contained in the first folder.
