1932 to 1990 with the bulk of materials falling between 1968 and 1988.
Background
Jerome Namias (3/19/10-) never earned a bachelor's degree or doctorate, but did complete
a master's degree in meteorology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1941.
He was Chief of the Extended Forecast Division of the U.S. Weather Bureau (1941-1971)
before joining UCSD's Scripps Institution of Oceanography as a research meteorologist,
later Head of the Climate Research Group. He is renowned for his pioneering work in
extended weather forecasts and the study of air-sea interactions as they relate to the
weather.
