Adelbert Bartlett was born in 1887; became a commercial photographer based in Santa Monica, California; his photographs of the Southern California lifestyle were widely published in the U.S. and abroad; director, Near East Relief Fund regional headquarters news bureau in Los Angeles; worked for the Fund in Greece, Palestine, and Syria; died in 1966.
