    History

The Wells Fargo and Company was founded in New York in 1852 a branch established in San Francisco the same year. It operated freight and passenger express coaches from San Francisco to Sacramento and other towns where offices were established for banking. In 1905, the express business was suspended and the banking business merged with the Nevada Bank.
