Background
The Community Forum of San Joaquin was a community organization consisting primarily of
educators and community leaders. The Forum's purpose was to conduct community research
and to present its findings to the Stockton (Calif.) community through conferences and
seminars in an effort to draw individuals into new and active civic roles. Many members
of the board were faculty and administrators from the University of the Pacific and San
Joaquin Delta Community College. The President of the Board was Fran Abbott, a Trustee of
the Lincoln Unified School District. This collection was created by Ronald Limbaugh, a
member of the Board of Directors of the Forum, Professor of History at the University of
the Pacific and Archivist at the Pacific Center for Western Studies.
