Biographical Note
Abbot Marquis Anton Francesco Montauti was special envoy to the court at Vienna for the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Cosimo III
(son of Ferdinand II) from March 24, 1670 to October 31, 1723.
Scope and Content
Ciphers, letters, official patents, documents, and one drawing collected by Montauti while special envoy. Letters include
chancellery letters of Cosimo III and Francesco Panciatichi, as well as letters of various royal and church personages.
