Abstract: Sound recording manufacturer and distributor catalogs, primarily from the 78 era (ca. 1900-1950), including annual catalogs,
monthly supplements and overseas catalogs from most major manufacturers. Also included are several numerical catalogs, catalogs
of piano rolls, smaller advertising pamphlets as well as a smaller, but growing number of catalogs from the 1950-1990s

The bulk of the collection is from the Verne Todd Collection (PA Mss 1) and the Harry and Grace James Collection (PA Mss 3).
Items from these the James and Todd collections are identified by a slip. The remainder of the collection is from various
sources including smaller donations and purchases

Scope and Content
The catalogs are arranged alphabetically by record company, and chronologically for each company. The country of issue for
catalogs for overseas branches of a company are noted in parentheses after the catalog title. For example, Italian Gramophone
Co. catalogs are under Gramophone Co. as "La Voce del Padrone: Catalogo Dischi (Italy), 1948." In cases where catalogs are
for more than one label or where a label is a subsidiary of another, the catalog is listed under the first label represented
or under the parent company. Cross references are provided where multiple labels are represented or where there may be confusion
