BIOGRAPHY
American poet associated with the Jack Spicer circle in San Francisco during the late
1940s and early 1950s. Later a botanist residing in Escondido, Calif.
SCOPE AND CONTENT
Holographs and annotated typescripts of 13 poems and short prose works written by
Hutchinson between 1947 and 1953. The file also includes a copy of an essay by John
Ciardi titled "Everyone writes (bad) poetry."
