    Abstract: Thomas Patrick White (1888-1968) was a judge of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County (1931-37), justice of the District Court of Appeal, 2nd appelate division of California (1937-49), and presiding justice beginning in 1949. In 1959, he was appointed Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of California. The collection consists of scrapbooks containing clippings, photographs, and memorabilia.

    Biography

    White was born on September 27, 1888 in Los Angeles, California; LL.B, University of Southern California, 1911; LL.D, Loyola University (Los Angeles), 1925; admitted to California bar, 1911; clerk with Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway in Los Angeles, 1905-8; judge, Los Angeles City Police Court, 1913-19; private law practice in Los Angeles, 1919-31; judge, Superior Court of Los Angeles County, 1931-37; justice of the District Court of Appeal, 2nd appelate division of California, 1937-49, and presiding justice beginning in 1949; in 1959 was appointed Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of California; he died in 1968.
