Scope and Content of Collection

From the LAUC-SB Bylaws at http://www.library.ucsb.edu/lauc/bylaws.html :
"The Librarians' Association of the University of California, Santa Barbara (LAUC-SB) is established by authority of the University President as a division of the Librarians' Association of the University of California (LAUC). [...]
"The objectives: To create a forum wherein matters of concern to librarians may be considered and analyzed, and to advise the library administration, the campus administration, or through statewide LAUC, the office of the President, as appropriate, on:
a. Planning, evaluation and implementation of programs, services or technological features of the UCSB Library or of the University libraries.
b. The professional standards, rights, privileges and obligations of members of the librarian series at UCSB.
c. Professional and governance matters of concern to all librarians. [...]
"The membership of this organization shall consist of all persons in the University of California, Santa Barbara holding appointment half-time or more in the librarian series or in any one of the following titles: University Librarian, Associate University Librarian, Assistant University Librarian or in the same titles in an acting capacity."

Arrangement

The collection contains the following series:
Series I, Chronological files, arranged chronologically by year and alphabetically by subject within each year. Switches from year (Jan-Dec.) to school year (July-Jun.) with 1977/78. Contains minutes, agendas, ad-hoc and sub-committee files, treasurer's files, bylaws, election files, and other related documents.
Series II, Appointments, contains procedural documents relating to creation, posting, review, termination, etc. of library positions, salary surveys, committee files, etc., as well as files on specific positions advertised, filled, and/or abolished. Supporting documents (Subseries A) arranged alphabetically, Positions (Subseries B) arranged chronologically.
Series III, CAP (Committee on Advancement and Promotion) files, contains files on merit and promotion review, performance evaluation, research, and other related materials.
Series IV, Statewide, contains files on LAUC general assembly meetings and committees involving LAUC-SB members, the Ad-Hoc Committee on the Library Plan, and the Southern Regional Library Facility (SRLF).
Series V, Audio, contains one tape of a LAUC-sponsored event.
