The collection consists of administrative files, programs, oral histories and bound volumes.
Background
Western Society for Physical Education of College Women (WSPECW) was formed in 1921 under the name Western Society of College Directors of Physical Education for Women as an affiliate of the National Association for Physical Education of College Women (NAPECW). NAPECW merged with the National College Physical Education Association for Men (NCPEAM) in the 1970's to form the National Association for Physcial Education in Higher Education (NAPEHE). Western Society for Physical Education of College Women is a nonprofit organization with voluntary membership. The organization provides a forum to address and act on issues for women in physical education. The Western Society for Physical Education of College Women draws from a large geographic area.
